SS501 Kim Kyu Jong Poses for Pictures of Musical Goong

Photographs of SS501 member Kim Kyu-jong dressed up for his first musical act has been unveiled by its musical producer Group 8.

According to a press release by Group 8 on Friday, Kim, who was recently cast as the male lead for "Goong," posed for promotional pictures of the upcoming musical at a studio in Seoul on Wednesday.

Some dozen media outlets from Japan including Sankei Shimbun and Hallyupia covered the shoot since the musical is set to go overseas for the first time and show in Kyoto, Japan, from June 11 to July 1.

When asked how he feels about his role as a crown prince in a constitutional monarchy, Kim answered that he is receiving advice from TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho who played that role last year.

"It not easy trying to fill the shoes of other actors who have played the role of the prince," Kim was quoted as saying in the statement. "Right now, I know I still look a bit awkward donned in the garment of crown prince, I promise to show you my own unique version of Prince Lee Shin," he promised.

The show's venture to Japan was realized through invitation from top Japanese entertainment companies Shochiku famous for traditional kabuki performances and talent agency IMX.

"Goong," about an ordinary girl named Shin Chae-kyung who suddenly finds herself engaged to the crown prince of Korea in an alternate universe where the country stands as nation of constitutional monarchy, is originally from a popular comic book series by Park So-hee that was also re-adapted into TV series "Princess Hours" starring Yoon Eun-hye and Joo Ji-hoon in 2006.

The musical version was first staged in September last year at the National Museum of Korea by Group 8 famous for production of TV dramas such as the mega-hit series "Boys Over Flowers" (KBS, 2009).

Kim debuted as one of the members in boy band SS501 along with Kim Hyun-joong, Park Jung-min, Heo Young-saeng and Kim Hyung-jun with their first self-titled album in 2005. The group released various hit songs such as "Snow Prince," U R Man" and "Love Ya."

In June of last year however, the members of SS501 sought out individual careers after their contract with DSP Media expired and signed with new agencies.

SS501 Kim KyuJong, Extending Prince’s Soft Hands

  

Group SS501’s member Kim KyuJong started his sharing/charity activities with his appointment as the ambassador of ‘Heart Heart Foundation’.

Kim KyuJong volunteered for a welfare activity at an animal shelter last winter together with Lee Hyori and his group member Heo YoungSaeng. He took up the appointment to be the ambassador in order actively return the love he received from his fans.

Kim KyuJong, who was recently casted for the role of the main lead prince for musical ‘Goong’, is busy with his practices for the musical as well as being a featuring artiste in SS501 member Heo YoungSaeng’s solo debut album.

Kim KyuJong said with regards to his volunteer work “I didn’t do it because I used to think that since I’m a public figure, it is an embarrassment to be recognized. It is always weighing on my mind, and now that I have the chance to take part to be the ambassador of ‘Heart Heart Foundation’, I am really excited and will be participating actively on the sharing/charity activities.” He also suggested fans’ participation.

Kim KyuJong will be personally preparing food for undernourished children under the ‘Warm Meals’ campaign, and will be participating in the sharing/charity performance of Heart Heart Orchestra, the very first of its kind, which is made up of developmental disabled youths. Besides that, he will also be providing support to other poor countries, and the fans will also be able to participate in other charity works together with Heart Heart Foundation.

Group SS501's member Kim Hyungjun who's recently returned as a solo singer has suddenly turned into a 'song beggar'.

On MBC's 'Golden Fishery Radio Star' that was broadcasted on the 20th, Kim Hyungjun made an appearance and expressed, "Everytime I go on TV I always said that I like Park Jinyoung, but until now, truth is I haven't had any single contact with him at all", as he showed signs of bittery. "Even to the extend that my manager had to ask the favor of him instead, but still, he somehow only did it with singer UV (Yoo Seyoon)".

He also talked about his thoughts upon watching the 'Lee Taewon Freedom' music video. "To be honest when I was watching it I felt kinda angry. I didn't receive any single song at all, I don't understand why only UV got the collaboration chance instead".

However, he took a turn to his words immediately, "Please just give me one song - humanisticly", as he then recorded a video message for Park Jinyoung, begging for a song. This aroused much laughters from the audiences. Kim Heechul who saw this sight joked that Kim Hyungjun has since turned into a 'new kind of song beggar', as this caused a bout of another sea of laughter.

On the other hand, on this day's programme also featured the continuation of guests from last week's episode - Kim Hyungjun, Kim Jongmin, ZE:A's Kwanghee etc.

Young Saeng Injured, Solo Debut Postponed

Oh no... Our dear Prince was injured yesterday, April 19, while rehearsing. Now, his 28th April solo comeback was postponed and will be rescheduled in May. I included the notice from B2M Entertainment in this post together with the news from Allkpop. Let us hope and pray for Young Saeng's fast recovery. We don't want any of the boys getting hospitalized, do we? WE DON'T. Hahaha! Fighting YS!! :D

Hello this is B2M Entertainment.

We're here to deliver a piece of sad news to all fans who have been eagerly awaiting for Heo Youngsaeng-gun's release of his first mini album and his solo activities.

While practising for his choreography, Youngsaeng-gun had hurt his hands, and until he recovers from that, all of his schedules and album have decided to be postponed.

All of you guys have been eagerly awaiting for him, and for the fact that we have decided for a delay is because Youngsaeng-gun's health is of utmost priority more than anything.

After diagnosis, it was known that the fracture of the back of his hands and rusture of ligaments will take about 4~5weeks to recover. For that, he is currently receiving treatment. Apart from Youngsaeng-gun's hands, there aren't any other health issues that he's facing for now.

We'll do all our best that we can in ensuring the recovery of Youngsaeng-gun. As for his album activities and all, we will make another notice soon after he is discharged.

Once again we wish to say sorry for having worried everybody.

We hope for Youngsaeng-gun's fast recovery.

[NEWS] SS501's Heo Young Saeng Postpones Solo Debut Due to an Injury

SS501′s Heo Young Saeng was originally scheduled to make his solo debut on April 28th, but plans have been pushed back after he sustained an injury during rehearsals.

B2M Entertainment reported, “Heo Young Saeng was practicing his choreography in the training room on the night of the 19th. He injured the back of his hand and was immediately rushed to the hospital. Test results showed that his hand has a ruptured ligament (desmorrhexis) and a fracture that will take five weeks to heal. He’s currently hospitalized and is awaiting further results.” 

Due to the sudden injury, all of the schedules for his solo promotions have been postponed.

His representative added, “Mentally, Heo Young Saeng is extremely upset over the fact that he must push back on his promise with his fans. He’s determined to push forward with a cast if it’s possible, so we’ll be discussing release dates as soon as he is discharged.”
